About Me

I am Jonathas Melo, Master degree student in Computer Science at Federal University of Pernambuco advised by Prof.Dr Marcelo d'Amorim. I have 7 years of IT experience, working in functions such as technical support, network infrastructure and software developer. Currently, I am doing researches in information security. Since early I had an attraction for computers, but only around my 12-13 years old when I received my first computer that I could finally meet and understand how a computer and its systems work, that made my eyes shine. After that, I started some courses in IT, first focused on assembling and maintaining computers until I to start in the university, where I knew this wonderful world that is computer science, algorithms and data structures, how a computer is organized (CPU, memory and internal communications), architectures and data sets of an operating system, as well as the system calls, threads and processes, is incredible! In this process, it would be natural to want to break and protect systems (hahaha) and this motivated me to study and deepen security concepts such as secure development, web security, vulnerability analysis and other hacking topics.

Experiences

  • System Analyst at Accenture:

    • where my responsibilities include to develop and create Salesforce architectures solutions. In general I have using HTML, JavaScript and Apex to develop. I have working with creation and maintain REST API and webservices to provide integrations between Salesforce and others systems, using agile concepts and performing secure SDLC to mitigate failures in our systems.

  • IT Security Analyst scholarship at UFRN:

    • where my responsibilities included to develop and maintain systems of Human Sciences, Letters and Arts Center. These systems are designed in PHP, HTML and CSS in general, with persistent data in MySQL. Also responsible for configuring and maintaining web servers and DNS servers in Linux environment (CentOS and Ubuntu), automating tasks with scripts in Python and Shell scripting, creating firewall policies, fixing errors and vulnerabilities in systems, as well as running network scans and penetration testing.

  • IT Suport Intern at SEEC:

    • I had some attributions that has involved Networks Support, devices maintain and perform support to system SIGEDUC.

  • IT Suport Intern at IFRN:

    • Here my responsibilities were activities associates with VOIP, monitoring institutional systems services through SNMP protocol and improves monitoring system of IT services.

  • IT Suport Technician at Miranda:

    • My responsibilities included computer maintain, configure networks equipment, Operational Systems installations (Windows and Linux) and clients support.
